Our Origin Story
The journey of Rel8.app began with a deeply personal experience—one that many families balancing work and distance can relate to.
My Nan was in an aged care facility. Like many families, I couldn't visit as often as I wanted. When I did make it in, she often couldn't remember what she had been up to, and our conversations would stall.
It wasn't until after she passed that I finally saw the photos. There she was, dressed up for the Melbourne Cup with her friends, heading out for fish and chips, and enjoying scones at afternoon tea.
"I realised I had missed all of these precious moments."
That heartbreak sparked a vision. I realised care workers didn't want to keep families in the dark—they just didn't have the simple, secure tools to share these stories easily. I built Rel8.app to ensure no family has to miss out on the moments that make life meaningful.
